Race of Champions comes with everything needed to be a great driving game. Tilt steering, garage, winding tracks, online duels, official car licenses, camera views, ghost car, practice mode and so on. If it isnt too much to ask, it lacks of car tuning or improvement and piece breakages could be more spectacular.

As any other top-notch game, the price for 3D graphics are brief loadings between stages and menus. Ads are placed on top, being absolutely non intrusive. No complaints here.

Perhaps it hasnt the best graphics seen on a driving game for mobile device so far, but it certainly comes with very good graphics. The same goes for playability: ok, it isnt either an obnoxious driving simulator or a too simple arcade where you can throw yourself into a cliff and magically reappear in the middle of the road. Its something halfway, and its indeed fun, very fun.

Recommendable even if you arent keen on driving games. In fact, if you havent ever played a driving game on your Android, ROC may be the best place to start. If you are already mad about games like this, youll enjoy it more.

And its fully free, from beginning to its very end, though theres an in-app purchase for some online features. Four and a half out of five.

An action game set on where you are

It must be pretty hard for any developer nowadays to actually innovate either the z-genre or action gaming. However, here and there appears someone with a great idea, usually making a new use of a feature of our devices used for another thing. In this case, Red Robot Labs places your position thanks to your GPS to somehow personalize your gaming experience. Its nice when you can read "outbreak has spread to Hinsdale County, CO". Unfortunately, it doesnt run over Gs Maps, but we hope its something that will come someday.

In Global Outbreak, you play the role of a mercenary leader working for a private security corporation whose resemblance to Blackwater is purely coincidential. Anyway, an infection is spreading and turning people into brainless zombies and governments are unable to fence it off, so you have been called to clean up the mess and earn some money by the way.

Surprisingly, games only 80 Mb and runs on any toaster with Android 2.0 or higher. Graphics are nice and zoominable, sound effects are appropriate, music sounds minimal yet eerie and native controls for touchscreens work fine, at least where you are in the middle of the action. Gameplay can be summarized in: select a ground team, clean the zone, call the chopper, spend money to build and place depots, purchase new helicopters and weapons, recruit new mercenaries. Sounds great, isnt it?
